Punjab govt exempts factories from site clearance
Press Trust of India Chandigarh To give impetus to industrialisation in the state, the Punjab government has announced to exempt the factories located or to be set up in the approved areas from clearance of site from the State Competent Authority cum State Appraisal Committee.
Under the new policy, this exemption will be extended to those units to be set up in industrial area/industrial estate/industrial focal points/approved Industries Park/industrial zone of the master plan/draft master plan.
For the industries to be set up in area other than such areas as designated/approved areas such as industrial area/industrial estate/industrial focal point/approved industrial park/industrial zone of the master plan/draft master plan, would be necessary to get site clearance under section 41-A of the factories Act, 1948, a government spokesman said.
He said that, however, all the industries which have to be exempted from site clearance, would have to meet all statuary requirements under various acts and obtain required approvals from directorate of factories, Punjab and the Punjab pollution control board.
