A decision to this effect was taken by the Council of Ministers in their meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here, an official spokesman said.
The nine women players would be employed in state-owned cooperative major Markfed, he said.
The idea behind the move is to boost the morale of sportspersons in Punjab, he said.
The women kabaddi team had brought laurels to Punjab during the second Kabaddi World Cup.
"This step would ensure to secure future of the players on one hand and offer more opportunities to the players to enhance their skills in the game for the further promotion of kabaddi in the state on the other," the spokesman said.
