These kits contain seeds of 10 varieties of various vegetables.
The Horticulture Department would charge only Rs 60 per kit of ten various verities of vegetable seeds, an official spokesperson said.
The seeds could be sown over an area of five marla of land, he added.
"The quality seed in this kit is much cheaper than in the market. It grows rapidly and can be planted repeatedly," he said.
Vegetables grown in kitchen garden can be kept free of pesticides and experts have been recommending non-chemical methods for protection from insects and pests.
