Industry and Commerce Minster Anil Joshi said Punjab has the potential to attract industries due to its world-class infrastructure, excellent air connectivity and four-six lane road connectivity between major cities.

On the pattern of Gujarat, Punjab will also create land bank so industrialists could be allotted land without going into technicalities of land acquisition law and its legal hurdles, he said.

He said sincere entrepreneurs, desirous of setting up their units in Punjab, would be offered land besides all sanctions from single window including power connection and environment clearance.

Joshi said he has personally monitored implementation of single window service in industry department.

The Minister said Punjab was on way to develop itself into an industrial nerve centre of South East Asia as with the opening of Integrated Check Post, Attari, it is all set to become the country's largest dry port.

Calling upon entrepreneurs to set-up their industries in Punjab, Joshi said the Punjab Government would extend all facilities to those who evince interest in setting up their units in the state.
