Badal gave this directive when a delegation of realtors called on him at his residence with a demand to provide relief on External Development (ED) charges, an official spokesman said here.
Seeking the Deputy CM's personal intervention, the members of the delegation demanded that external development charges should be rationalised as these were very high besides early solution of their pending issues.
After hearing the delegation, Sukhbir asked the realtors to submit a detailed charter of demands to him so that adequate steps could be taken for their facilitation.
He said Punjab has introduced new housing policy, full advantage of which should be taken by the developers with a focus on affordable houses to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of society.
He also informed the delegation that in one year Punjab would extend all basic amenities in urban as well as rural areas of the state.
