Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has hailed the Centre's move to allow states to directly market their products and services to other countries.
Badal said an era of new trade regime would begin with this decision and urged the Centre to expedite the process in this regard so that the states could be immensely benefitted, a state government release said.
Punjab CM has always advocated the direct trading system between a state and countries of its choice, it added.
The Centre has asked Indian embassies across the world to provide space to states to show their trade and commerce potential and facilitate exports, the release said.
The biggest beneficiary of this proposal will be Punjab-based farmers whose produce and its value-added products will find new markets across the world, it added.
