The former DCC chief, who had contested 2012 Punjab Assembly polls unsuccessfully as a Congress rebel against the minister, alleged at a press conference that he was being targeted as was an arch rival of the minister.
He said that raids at his ancestral house by the police was "most unauthorised and totally illegal".
He alleged that an SHO today came with heavy police party and tried to make forced entry into his house.
When contacted, the SHO, Jagjit Singh, said that raid was conducted to nab his brother Jagwinder Pal Singh Jagga and his son Akashdeep Singh in connection with an old case of attempt to murder.
However, the leader said that "police came to his house despite the fact that Jagwinder and his son Akashdeep were not staying in Majitha since 2010 and raid was conducted only to humiliate the family in full public view."
He said that earlier also police had conducted raid at his house and during that time they were informed that his brother was not staying in the house.
Lalli had left Congress in 2012 after he was denied ticket from Majitha constituency and contested as an Independent candidate against the SAD's Bikram Majithia.
