"It was not easy to win the title of Indian Idol as number of budding talented stars from across the country were performing in the competition but the performance of Vipul was unmatchable," Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia said.
Majithia said that it was too a matter of great pride for the state that the other two finalists of the show Devinder Pal Singh and Amit Kumar were also from Ludhiana and Amritsar respectively.
The minister said this unique performance and achievement of Amritsar-based Vipul would give a huge boost to the music industry of Punjab.
