CI sleuths had received information about a drugs consignment being smuggled by a gang last night and conducted a raid in an area here, said Additional Inspector General of Police-CI Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu.
The accused were identified as Mukhtiar Singh alias Kali and Gurnam Singh alias Thammu, both residents of Fattewala Hithar villages, and Surjit Singh, a resident of Pojo Ke Uthar village, he said.
Surjit Singh managed to escape.
The accused were associated with two other gangs from Ferozepur run by Samar Singh alias Sharma of Maste Ke village and Sandip Singh of Nihala Kilcha village, Sidhu said

The drugs were siezed from a tractor-trolley, he said, adding that the consignment was for Sandip Singh and Samar Singh.
The arrested have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
"Mukhtiar Singh has confessed to his involvement in drug peddling and said he had received two consignments of drug previously which were delivered to Sandip Singh and Samar Singh," the AIG said AIG.
