Punjab providing vocational and skill training to youths

Punjab Government is providing vocational training to the state's youths using modern tools to impart them latest skills as per industry requirements.
The youths are being equipped with the latest skills with assistance of Tata Motors in the trades of motor mechanic, refrigeration and AC, electrician, welder, automotive driver(heavy and light vehicles) and diesel mechanic, an official spokesperson said.
During 2013-14, training was given to 100 people in various trades by the institute formed by Tata Motors. In 2014-15, so far training has been provided to 74 youths in different disciplines, the spokesperson added.
'Construction Skill Development Centre' has been established with the assistance of Larsen and Tubro company at Abul Khurana village in Lambi block of Muktsar district of the state.
Training in trades of mason, bartender, carpenter, plumber, welder and electrician is provided at this centre, he said.
