A large quantity of food produced particularly vegetables and fruits had gone waste every year due to inadequate storage and food processing facilities, besides improper marketing arrangements, she told reporters here.
For the development of Food Processing sector a new policy would be introduced soon to make elaborate arrangements for the consumption of particular produce at the nearest points where it grows, she said.
She said in the milk production sector a comprehensive plan would also be chalked out on the pattern of Gujarat's Amul model.
