Punjab Youth Cong workers protest against "misrule" in Punjab

Scores of youth Congress workers today protested against the alleged "misrule" of the Punjab government, during which police resorted to cane-charge.
"Unemployment has multiplied in the last eight years, which is directly related to increase in drug abuse in the state," Indian Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said.
"The misrule of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and BJP in Punjab has ruined the future of the youth of Punjab in the last eight years. There is no new industry, no employment, no investment, no agriculture, no education, no health nothing substantial which can be credited to their name. The state is financially bankrupt," he alleged.
Warring also asked the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to tell people about what has been done for the betterment of youth of Punjab in the last eight years.
Meanwhile, police resorted to cane charge when the protesters tried to cross the barricade put up on the road which leads to an upcoming resort at Siswan-T-point near Mullanpur area.
A few workers even received some injuries in the incident, Punjab Youth Congress' leader claimed.

He also lambasted on the state government for the alleged neglected state of agriculture in Punjab.
"The cess on the fuel specially the diesel prices are far more than the neighboring states why the farmer of Punjab is being stressed by the SAD BJP government. The farmers are not being given the MSP, shortage of Urea and fertilizers and dismantling of FCI will also add to their woes," he alleged.
Warring said he will soon approach the Environment ministry to take up matter related to felling down of trees on the approach road from Siswan T point to the upcoming resort which belonged to Badal family.
The ministry should inquiry into the environment clearances which were given to construct this road, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, AICC spokesperson Vijayinder Singla said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the cause of farmers.
Rahul Gandhi personally visited three mandis of Punjab just to oversee the Wheat procurement work, he said, adding, that "today congress is the only party, which is pro farmer".
