"Today we submitted a memorandum to the state governor demanding that the government should make budgets of all universities and colleges available online," NSUI president Rohit Chaudhary told reporters here today.
"If budgets are available online, every student would know what type of funding is available for their education and other development, as well as how it is being spent. This is very critical for their empowerment," he said.
Replying to a query, he said that there were 38 universities in 16 states across the country which held regular 'open house' sessions for students.
Gujarat NSUI president Aditya Gohil told reporters that vice chancellors of Gujarat University and North Gujarat University have assured them of seriously considering their proposal to hold 'open house' sessions.
"In principle, 45 grant-in-aid colleges across the state have agreed to put their respective budgets online," he said.
