Putin's party wins huge majority in Russian Duma

President Vladimir Putin's United Russia party has won a huge majority in parliamentary elections, partial results showed today.
With nearly 90 per cent of the votes counted, the party had 54.3 per cent of ballots, securing it at least 338 seats in the 450-member parliament.
It was followed by two parties who back decisions made by the government -- the Communists and ultranationalist Liberal Democratic Party.
