Arunachal Pradesh Public Works Department minister Gojen Gadi today inspected the National Highway-415, severely damaged by the month long heavy rainfall, particularly the Karsingsa sinking zone, which snapped the lifeline to state capital.
Gadi, who had earlier visited the spot on June 8 along with with PWD (Highway) Naharlagun division executive engineer Khoda Gyati, held discussion with the engineers, local leaders and contractors to assess the problems.
Massive landslides had buried two earth movers completely on June 20, the minister was told by the engineers who also said incessant rains was obstructing restoration work as landslips were continuing.
Responding to questions, the minister said during his recent visit to New Delhi he had received positive indication from the Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways on sanction of the four-lane Itanagar-Hollongi Highway and allow speedy construction of a RCC bridge as a permanent solution to link the state capital.
