"I am in touch with BJP's central leaders for the last 14 months. They have given a positive signal to the proposal for an OJM-BJP alliance in Odisha," Mohapatra told reporters.
Mohapatra, who was expelled from ruling BJD on the charge of anti-party activities by Naveen Patnaik, however, said the alliance will be a reality only after the discussion on seat- sharing is successful.
"I am hopeful of an alliance with BJP. However,I can't say for sure about the proposed alliance with BJP," he said.
This formation can then be a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he added.
