Odisha Jammorcha (OJM) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra today hinted at a possible alliance with BJP for coming Lok Sabha elections.
"I am in touch with BJP's central leaders for the last 14 months. They have given a positive signal to the proposal for an OJM-BJP alliance in Odisha," Mohapatra told reporters.
Mohapatra, who was expelled from ruling BJD on the charge of anti-party activities by Naveen Patnaik, however, said the alliance will be a reality only after the discussion on seat- sharing is successful.
"I am hopeful of an alliance with BJP. However,I can't say for sure about the proposed alliance with BJP," he said.
Mohapatra said he has proposed a Front including some small parties and BJP, to fight against BJD under one umbrella.
This formation can then be a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he added.

The state BJP leadership, however, said it has no information regarding alliance with OJM.
"Mohapatra is an MP and may be talking to BJP's central leadership. But the final decision in this regard will be taken at the state level," party's state spokesman Suresh Pujari said.
"So far, there is no plan to enter into any kind of alliance or share seats with any other political party. The party is ready to go it alone," BJP state president K V Singhdeo said.
