Mohapatra, who was expelled from the ruling BJD last week on charge of anti-party activities, dubbed Patniak as 'selfish' and 'inhuman' while adressing OJM's second rally at Bhawanipatna, the epicentre of KBK Kalahandi-Bolangir-Koraput) region. The OJM's first public meeting was held at Bhubaneswar on October 28.
The Rajya Sabha MP's remark against Patnaik came as a retaliation to the Chief Minister's statement against him. Patnaik had earlier dubbed Mohapatra as a "Beiman" (betrayer) after he (Mohapatra) allegedly attempted a coup on May 29, 2012.
"Naveen did not try to improve the condition of the people in the poor state. I had suggested him to introduce cheap rice scheme for the poor people and also Biju KBK Yojana to help the poverty hit districts," Mohapatra told a gathering from eight tribal dominated districts.
Instead of being obliged, Mohapatra alleged that the Chief Minister became envious of him. Naveen's lack of vision for the improvement of the state was clearly visible, he claimed.
"Though his legendary father Biju Patnaik was a man with vision and a heart, Naveen did not have any such qualities," Mohapatra said adding that he had shouldered responsibility of promoting Naveen in the state politics.
"Instead of working for the people, Naveen used to enjoy his garden and orchid," Mohapatra, a former advisor of the Chief Minister said.
