The aircraft, on its way from Kuala Lumpur, was flying over Indian airspace when the passenger complained of chest pain, following which the pilots sought permission to land at Chennai, airport sources said.
A clearance was issued for landing after due consultations and an ambulance and a medical team kept ready at the airport to attend to the woman, they said.
After landing, she was subjected to a medical check up and rushed to a hospital, the sources said, adding the flight continued its onward journey.
