"The aim of setting up quiz clubs in government schools is to encourage students to learn new things, generate interest among them regarding their syllabus and attract them towards learning through innovative activities," state education minister Ram Bilas Sharma said here today.
He said these clubs will provide students and teachers with an enlightening and creative activity to expand their analytical prowess.
Apart from this, the objective of these clubs is also to expand the intellectual, mental and creative ability of the students while infusing a sense of healthy competition among them, Sharma said.
Informing that questions in the quiz programmes will be based on lessons taught in classes, the minister said, "Those who exhibit excellent performance in class-level competitions would be eligible to participate in various competitions of the Education department."
Sharma said class-wise and subject-wise question banks are being posted on the education department's website.
"Quiz masters have been trained at state level and they will impart training to one teacher of every school, who would play a significant role in conducting quiz competitions," he said.
