"Since last four years Madhya Pradesh's average agriculture growth rate continues to stand at more than 20 per cent which is possibly highest in the world," Yadav said addressing the 67th Republic Day function at Lal Parade Ground here.
"The state is getting Krishi Karman award from the Centre for the highest agriculture growth rate since last four years," the Governor said lauding the efforts made in the sector despite "challenges".
Referring to irrigation sector, the Governor said that in the last decade the state's irrigation potential has increased from 7.5 lakh hectare to 36 lakh hectare and it has set a target of taking it to 40 lakh hectare by 2018.
Highlighting state's overall growth rate, he said that MP's growth rate continues to remain at double digit and its gross domestic product which was at Rs one lakh crore about 10 years back, now stands at Rs 5 lakh crore.

On the energy sector, the Governor said that the state has focused on tapping wind and solar energy to a great extent and is establishing world's largest solar power plant of 750 MW capacity at Rewa and already set up Asia's biggest solar energy plant of 130 MW capacity at Neemuch.
Yadav also highlighted the state's achievements in infrastructure and social sector especially construction of toilets in nearly 50 lakh houses under Swacch Bharat Mission and making 1,500 villages open defecation free this year.
