During the event attended by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Chief Secretary CS Rajan, Director General of Police Kapil Bhatt, and other senior IAS and IPS officers, the governor also gave away 45 awards and merit certificates.
The governor took the salute as jawans of RAC, Mahila Battalion, Gujarat Armed Battalion, Bikaner District Police, Traffic Police, Railway Police, Jail Police, Border Home Guards, Urban Gards, and students of NCC and Scouts and Guides marched past as part of the official parade.
Meanwhile in Jaipur, Kalicharan Saraf, Rajasthan Education Minister, hoisted the Indian flag at Chogan stadium and took the salute.
In his address, Saraf said that the Raje government has accorded top priority to education. He also noted that basic changes have been made to the teacher recruitment process.

After the parade, Saraf said it was unfortunate that miscreants had blackened the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Dudu on the eve of Republic Day.
