Hulu and BuzzFeed have collaborated on a new documentary film about the sex abuse claims lodged against singer-songwriter R Kelly.
Kelly has been accused of sexually abusive and inappropriate behaviour toward numerous women and girls over the past two decades, including allegations from at least five women this month. In 2002 he was indicted on multiple counts of child pornography (before he was later acquitted). The R&B artist has never been convicted of a crime.
The feature will focus on Kelly's "alleged systematic abuse and exploitation of young black women," reported Entertainment Weekly.
Linzee Troubh and Shani Hilto of BuzzFeed News developed the project, which will be directed by Lyric Cabral.
BuzzFeed News' reporting on the matter will be featured in the documentary, including commentary from music critic/radio host Jim DeRogatis (serving as a consulting producer) and deputy national editor Marisa Carroll.
The film will also include interviews with alleged abuse survivors.
