'Rabindranath and the US' gallery opened at Jorasanko
Press Trust of India Kolkata A gallery named 'Rabindranath and the US' was today inaugurated at the Rabindra Bharati Museum at Jorasankho here today by West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.

This where the poet was born and breathed his last," the Governor said at the gallery's inaugural.
The gallery would provide visitors a comprehensive overview of Tagore's visits in the United States.
Helen LaFave, US Consul General in Kolkata who was present at the inaugural, said, "It is a matter of great joy that we can gather here to witness the successful fruition of a project that will stand as a lasting testimony to the bonds of friendship between the peoples of India and the United States".
Walter Douglas, Minister Counsellor for Public Affairs, US Embassy, New Delhi said, "The American Gallery will grow in size and stature in the days to come, as more and more material on Tagore's US visits finds its place in the gallery. This space will become a haven for visitors, students, researchers and teachers.
