Actors Rafe Spall and John Slattery will star in the pilot of Hulu's dystopian comedy "Kansas City".

The two actors will be joined by Allison Tolman in the pilot, which will be directed by Rhys Thomas from a script by Zev Borow, reported Deadline.

The story is set in a world where the Kansas City has been divided by a wall to separate the conservative West KC from the liberal East KC.

Spall, who recently appeared in "Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom", will portray the role of Ben Graham, a citizen of East KC who has wearily resigned himself to only being able to see his 15-year-old daughter, Clarissa, who lives in West KC, a few hours a day until he is approached about being a spy.

Slattery, best known for playing Howard Stark in Marvel films, will play Ellis Brookmeyer, Ben's former father-in-law and the last mayor of unified Kansas City, who is the leading funder of West KC's secret police and will stop at nothing to bring East KC to its knees.

Tolman will play Tabatha Brookmeyer, Ben's ex-wife and the mother of their daughter. She left Ben and East KC to live with their daughter in West KC. Her motivations then, and now, are complicated as is her fraught relationship with her father, Ellis.
