"The Congress Vice-president feels Delhi has become world class city, which is far from the ground realities," Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel said while addressing a public meeting here.
"A report prepared by the Urban Development Ministry of the UPA (government) says that Delhi has failed on basic urbanisation parameters such as electricity, drinking water and poverty index. Congress Vice-president should not depend on the incorrect and misleading figures supplied by the Congress government of Delhi," he said.
"Can someone call a city developed and its government efficient, if it cannot construct a sanitary landfill site, a night shelter, an old age home or a mega bus terminus? There are huge gaps in demand and supply of basic amenities in various parts of the city," Goel said.
He said electricity network, transport system and roads in the city are in bad shape.

"...All the major roads of Delhi are full of potholes and the monsoon recently exposed the tall claims made by the Congress government. The Chief Minister, herself, was reported to have offered prayers to rain god so that Delhi could be spared," he remarked.
Raising question over regularisation issue, he said about 60 lakh people are living unauthorised colonies and they were given "fake" regularisation provisional certificates recently as no facilities have been made available to them.
"Similar trick was played upon the people living in the unauthorised colonies before the 2008 assembly elections," Goel alleged.
He also alleged that only 15,000 of the promised 60,000 affordable houses have been built under Rajiv Ratan Awas Scheme and not a single house has been allotted to the poor, adding that even the Public Distribution System has collapsed in Delhi while the flawed food security scheme has been a non-starter.
