According to sources, former ministers from Telangana were part of the meeting. Gandhi, sources said, sought the views from leaders on improving the electoral prospects of Congress in Telangana region.
The meeting comes at a time when Congress is expected to draw a blank in Seemandhra region while it is keeping its fingers crossed over TRS' refusal for merger.
Party general secretary Digvijay Singh today said new PCC chiefs for both Telangana and Seemandhara would be decided soon.
Gandhi's meeting with Telangana leaders came as Congress and TRS are likely to hold talks here early next week over electoral alliance after the regional party in Andhra Pradesh rejected the demand for a merger.
