Earlier, Congress President Sonia Gandhi used to meet party MPs from all the states in Parliament during every session, a practice which was carried out by Rahul this time in an indication of his growing role in the national affairs of Congress.
Talking to reporters after the interaction, Gandhi said that it was a "general meeting" and that he plans to meet MPs from all states in days to come during the ongoing Budget session.
MPs from Tamil Nadu were the first to meet him, which was followed by an hour long-meeting with Delhi MPs.
Sources said that party MP from West Delhi Mahabal Mishra demanded greater representation for migrants in the party organization.

Mishra said that the population of migrants has increased in the state of Delhi and their votes are substantial in many pockets. Hence they should be given greater representation at various levels of the organization.
Gandhi also had a brief interaction with school students from Surat in Gujarat, who had come to Parliament House to watch the proceedings of Lok Sabha but but could not do so as the House adjourned for the day at 2 PM.
Sources said that Gandhi will be meeting MPs from two states each day during this session.
