BJP chief Amit Shah today said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had left his Amethi constituency in "crisis" and was visiting Gujarat ahead of the assembly elections in the state.
"Power is for service not enjoyment," Shah said when asked about the Congress vice-president's recent trip to the poll-bound state.
"Rahul Baba has left Amethi in crisis despite being chosen from there," he added.
Shah was speaking after laying the foundation stone of over 50 district party offices in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state party chief Mahendra Nath Pandey were present on the occasion.
Shah said the construction of BJP offices has been started in 85 per cent districts of the state and by 2019 the party would have a presence in all 75 districts.
He praised the Adityanath government in the state for "putting an end" to criminal activity and corruption through initiatives like e-tendering.
Farmers are getting maximum benefits as proper remuneration for their crops goes directly in their bank accounts, he added.
Addressing the gathering in the land of the famous Naimisharanya Dham, Chief Minister Adityanath said the historical area would be developed into a tourist spot for which Rs 400 crore will be sanctioned by his government.
