"Tourists go to the Taj Mahal and take snaps of their visit for posterity....Rahul Gandhi does exactly the same when he visits the poor, taking photojournalists and cameramen with him so that photographs and footage of his interaction with the poor can make headlines," Modi told election meetings in Bihar.
Claiming that Gandhi "knew nothing" about poverty, he said "I was born in a poor family and suffered due to poverty. I had to sell tea for a livelihood .... I know about poverty and can feel it and feel for such people."
Claiming that the government of 'mother and son' (Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi) was on its way out, he predicted "doom" for the Congress-led UPA in the hustings, saying that the rival party and its allies would not be able open its account in some states.
He further claimed that the NDA would win at least 300 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, and promised to work for the poor, saying that the NDA would ensure good governance and development.
He also hit out at the Nitish Kumar government in the state saying its performance in employment generation was no better than the UPA government.
Also promising to stamp out corruption, he said "People of Bihar should give all 40 Lok Sabha seats to the NDA so that it can attain target of winning 300 seats in the general elections.
