The minister's move came after around 100 civil defence volunteers staged a dharna outside Delhi Secretariat for non-payment of their salaries for three-four months.
In a statement, government said that Transport department has decided that it will now maintain a record of the bank account numbers of the marshals so that bottlenecks in transferring the salaries in their bank accounts are permanently removed.
A senior government official said the decision was taken after Rai pointed out that lack of records should not become an impediment in the functioning of bus marshals.
Staging dharna, a civil defence volunteer said there were several volunteers, who were hired during the first phase of the odd-even scheme car rationing scheme but most have not got salaries of three-four months.
