Alamgir Mollah, a CPI(M) activist, was arrested from Kashinagar and produced in the ACJM's court in Diamond Harbour which remanded him to seven days police custody, SP Pravin Kumar Tripathy said.
Five CPI(M) activists, including the party's zonal secretary Bimal Bhandari was arrested on June 17, a day after the ruling Trinamool Congress had lodged an FIR against 21 marxist activists including former minister Kanti Ganguly.
Incidentally, the Left Front had on June 18 'strongly protested' a 'resolution' brought by TMC in the Assembly accusing it and BJP in the incident.
