Rail services on Ambala-Chandigarh route to be affected

Due to non-interlocking work to be carried out between Ambala Cantt and Dapper stations falling on Ambala Chandigarh section, a number of trains, including superfast and express, to and from Chandigarh will be affected from tomorrow till October 4.
This also includes train diversion, cancellation, short termination and regulation.
A railway spokesman said, "due to Non-Interlocking work between Ambala Cantt-Dapper stations on Ambala Cantt- Chandigarh section two blocks (stoppage of trains) will take place resulting in disruption of regular train services.
The section will remain closed for four hours each from 12.30 PM from September 28 to October 3 and four hours tomorrow and on October 4.
Long distance trains connecting Chandigarh with Jaipur, Dibrugarh, Kochuveli, Bandra Terminus bi-weekly Express, Lucknow and two local passenger trains running between Amb Andaura in Himachal Pradesh and Ambala Cantt will run via Ambala Cantt Sirhind Mohali route from September 29 to October 4.
The spokesman said that Ramnagar Chandigarh Ramnagar Express will be short terminated at Ambala Cantt and remain cancelled between Ambala Cantt and Chandigarh.

He said that Bandra Terminus Kalka Paschim Express will be regulated for 60 minutes between Ambala Cantt- Dhulkot railway stations.
Another train running Chandigarh- Lucknow Express will be rescheduled to leave at 19:55 hours Ex Chandigarh instead of its scheduled departure time of 1700 hrs, he said.
The Kalka-Ambala Cantt daily Passenger will remain cancelled.
The inter-locking work is being undertaken in connection with completion of double tracking between Ambala Cantt and Dapper falling on Ambala Cantt - Chandigarh section.
