"No one would like a fare-hike, but it was quite inevitable. Railways suffer losses of Rs 30 crore per day and to meet the losses, a hike was needed," Fadnavis told reporters here.
He also said that people should give the new government some time to see positive changes in the functioning of the railways in the country.
When asked about expectations for Mumbai in the upcoming budget, he said Mumbai will receive in abundance in Union budget.
