The body of Mahesh Prasad Chaurasiya, an assistant cook at loco retiring room, was recovered with multiple deep injury marks from his quarter at railway colony, Mailani railway junction, they said.
All the belongings in Chaurasiya's room were found scattered, police said.
He was reported to be absent from his duty for the past two days.
The body has been sent for the post mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, police said.
