Railway employee held for misbehaving with woman on train
Press Trust of India Hyderabad A railway employee was taken into custody on charges of misbehaving with a woman passenger in an AC coach of Nagarsole-Narasapur Express allegedly in an inebriated condition, Railway Police said.
Accused Shanker, a technician in Lalaguda rail workshop here, had boarded the train at Nizamabad railway station on his way to Hyderabad and entered the AC coach last night and misbehaved with a middle-aged woman passenger in the AC compartment, Secunderabad GRP Police said today.
The accused followed the woman to the washroom in the coach and continuously knocked its door. However, the woman raised an alarm, after which co-passengers caught hold of the man, thrashed him and then handed him over to railway police, they said.
Following a complaint, Secunderabad GRP Police registered a case against the accused on charges of trying to outrage the modesty of a woman under section 354 of the IPC and other relevant provisions of the Nirbhaya Act, a railway police officer said.
