The Railway Protection Force on Wednesday seized 135 bottles of liquor from the Mandore Express at Jodhpur station, police said.
The Haryana made liquor was hidden in two toilets in the train, they said.
According to the GRP police, an information was received by the GRP police station at Jodhpur railway station on Wednesday morning that the train no.12461, plying between Delhi and Jodhpur, had a huge consignment of Haryana made liquor hidden in the toilet of S3 coach.
"A team of GRP was immediately rushed to the train after it arrived at platform from Delhi and an intense search operation was launched," a GRP official said.
"On checking the toilet of the S3 coach, we found a bag containing liquor bottles hidden in the ceiling of the toilet. The smugglers had unscrewed the ceiling panel to hide the liquor," the official said.
Taking this recovery as a cue, the GRP sleuths decided to search the entire train and a second recovery was made in S7 coach, where also the liquor bag had been hidden in the ceiling of the toilet.

On counting, total number of bottles turned out to be 135. The smugglers had brought the liquor here to make the fast buck out of the difference in the prices of liquor in Haryana and Rajasthan.
The officials here are have not ruled out the involvement of railway staff as it required time and practice to unscrew the toilet ceiling, accommodate the bag packed with bottles, repack it and then reclaim it at the terminating end.
No arrest, however, could be made in this regard as the claimant or smugglers of the liquor believed to have fled after seeing the GRP search operation.
