In a unique initiative, the railways today launched 'Mission Satyanishtha' to sensitise its employees about the need to adhere to ethics and maintain high standards of integrity at work.

It also organised a programme on 'Ethics in Public Governance' at the National Rail Museum.

Railways Minister PiyushGoyal administered oath to the officers and supervisors at the programme.

"People define an organisation and an organisation defines its people, hence, work culture has to be improved and transparency brought about," he said.

Lack of interest towards work in any system may be termed as unethical, amounting to corruption," the minister said.

Mission Satyanishtha aims at sensitising all railway employees about the need to adhere to ethics and maintain high standards of integrity at work, a statement from the railways said.

Talks and lectures on the subject were also organised on the occasion, it said.
