Railway women notch up 3rd win on trot in Basketball Nationals

India star Geethu Anna Jose top-scored with 16 points while Kiranjit Kaur, M Pushpa and P Anitha 10 chipped in with 12, 11 and 10 points as Uttar Pradesh found no match of their fancied opponents.

Railways led 30-9, 23-9, 31-13, 32-14 in the four quarters.

In the men's section, hosts and defending champions Punjab won a close match against Karnataka 87-79. The home side quelled a late fightback from their opponents with the four quarters scoreline reading 23-23, 25-18, 15-26, 24-12.

Talwinderjit Singh top-scored with 25, while Ranbir Singh (21), Satnam Singh (11) were the other notable contributors for Punjab.
