Railways eves triumph, Bihar humiliated

Defending champion Railways eves maintained their winning spree defeating two sides on the second day of the 61st Senior National Kabaddi Championship here at Patliputra Sports Complex today.
Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajsthan also won their respective matches during the day.
Star-studded Railways womens first trounced Punjab 45-21 and then beat Chhattishgarh 40-12. International raider Mamta Pujari earned highest points for them.
In other pool matches of the group, Maharashtra eves pipped Tamil Nadu 43-20 and West Bengal 40-17 while the Andhra Pradesh vs Madhya Pradesh match ended 35-35 and Delhi vs Karnataka match finished at 33-33.
Hosts Bihar, however, faced a 11-37 humiliating defeat against Punjab and lost to Chhattishgarh by 12-26.
Meanwhile, in the mens' section, holders Indian Railway opened the tournament with a 54-13 convincing win over Punjab. In other matches, Karnataka defeated Hyderabad 26-8, Haryana trounced Tamil Nadu 50-23, Madhya Pradesh over powered Bihar 35-32 and Rajasthan humiliated West Bengal 35-14 followed by Services outplaying Madhya Pradesh 44-24.

Chandigarh and Haryana also won their matches against Hyderabad and Jharkhand by 51-19 and 43-33 respectively in other group league matches.
The Bihar men's team lost to Madhya Pradesh in a tight match by 32-35 and to Uttar Pradesh 33-35.

Women: Himachal Pradesh bt Tamil Nadu 46-34; Manipur bt Pondicherry 37-21; Himachal Pradesh bt West Bengal 27-24.
