The probe has been ordered by Divisional Railway Manager, Ambala and will be conducted by three junior administrative grade level railway officers, said a statement today.
It said General Manager, Northern Railway alongwith his team of headquarter officials visited the site and found nothing "wanting" from Railways regarding condition of speed breakers, sign boards and general road surface of level crossing.
As per preliminary enquiry reports, the driver was applying horn frequently before the level crossing seeing the vehicle near the crossing which had developed some problems.
Twelve members of a family, including four children, were killed and three sustained injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by Dhuri-Sirsa passenger train at the unmanned rail crossing in Sarsod village of Hisar today amid dense fog.
The driver of the transport vehicle was among those killed, SHO, Government Railway Police, Hisar, Bhim Sein said.
