A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Anoop Mohta was hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by NGO 'India Centre for Human Rights and Law' (ICHRL) seeking implementation of the provisions provided under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunity and Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

Additional Solicitor General Kevic Setalvad, appearing for both Central and Western railways, informed the court today that sample toilets which are disabled-friendly have been set up in Bandra and Dadar railway stations.

"The Central Railway is in the process of inviting tenders to provide facilities for disabled persons in railway stations. Western Railway has already issued tenders. Steps have been taken," Setalvad said.

The bench then directed both the railways to file a status report within four weeks.
