Rain brings relief in parts of North India

Rain and hailstorm lashed parts of North India bringing respite for the regions while remaining areas continued to face heat and humid weather condition today.
Delhiites witnessed partly cloudy sky as the minimum temperature settled at 24.9 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal.
The maximum temperature settled at 36.6 degree, 2.7 notches above the normal. While humidity was recorded at 66 per cent at 8:30 in the morning here today.
Rain lashed several parts of Punjab as the maximum temperatures today hovered below normal level.
Amritsar had a pleasant day today at 27.6 degree, six notches below normal, after the holy city was lashed by 85 mm of rains, Meteorological department said.
Ludhiana and Patiala were also lashed by heavy rains as the two cities recorded temperature at 32.5 degree and 34 degree respectively.

However, Chandigarh and many parts of Haryana experienced sultry weather conditions today.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 35 degree, three notches above normal.
Rain also lashed eastern Rajasthan with Pilani recording a maximum rainfall of 28 mm.
A high intensity squall swept across Jaipur district late in the evening with minor drizzling.
A temporary western disturbance arising from Bay of Bengal hit the north-eastern districts of Ganganagar, Churu, Hanumangarh, Churu and Jaipur this afternoon, according to a Met report.
Hailstorm occurred in Hanumangarh district late in the evening while moderate rains lashed Alwar district.
In Uttar Pradesh, the highest temperature was recorded at Banda with 37.4 degree.
