Rain fury in city, KPCC chief asks CM to instruct officials to

As the city tried to limp back to normalcy after heavy downpour last evening, KPCC President, G Parameshwara today asked Chief Minister and the Ministers in charge of the city to instruct officials to work on a war footing to safeguard people from havoc caused due to heavy rains.
"Chief Minister and in charge minister has to instruct officials to take up work in war footing, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials have to be instructed to work 24x7," Parameshwara said in a statement.
He said "As heavy rains have been forecast for next three to four days, I request the Chief Minister to assist BBMP in taking precautionary measures."
Normal life in the city was disrupted due to water logging and uprooting of trees in several parts of the city resulting in traffic jam. Houses at the low lying areas were flooded with water due to heavy downpour.
City received 130 mm of rain fall recorded until 11.30 pm yesterday. Met department has forecasted heavy rains in the city both for today and tomorrow.
Bangalore City Mayor N Shanthakumari and in charge minister, Ramalinga Reddy visited affected areas in the city and directed official to take adequate measures.
Pradesh Congress Chief has directed local Congress workers and leaders to provide assistance to the people in affected areas.
