Light to moderate rainfall occurred in most parts of Himachal Pradesh since Sunday evening, bringing the maximum temperature down by a few notches, the meteorological department said.
Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Sirmour district as monsoon was vigorous in the state, Shimla MeT centre director Manmohan Singh said.
Jatton Barrage received the highest 98 mm rainfall from 5.30 pm on Sunday to 5.30 pm on Monday, followed by Rajgarh 75 mm, Paonta Sahib and Sanngrah (71 mm each), Dehra Gopipur (54 mm), Solan and Nadaun (51 mm each), Berthin (49 mm each), Pachhad (48 mm), Kandaghat (45 mm), Renuka Jee (44 mm), Bhoranj (42 mm), Nahan (41 mm), Baldwara (38 mm), Amb (36 mm), Ghumarwin (35 mm), Mehre and Guler (33 mm each), and Jubbar Hatti (30 mm), he added.
Hamirpur witnessed 29 mm rainfall, Dharamshala (36 mm), Baijnath, Ghamroor and Bangana (27 mm each), Una (26 mm), Bharari (25 mm), Dharampur (24 mm), Kahu (23 mm), Sujanpur Tira (22 mm), Shimla (23 mm), Jogindernagar (21 mm), Naina Devi, Jhandutta and Gohar (20 mm each) and Kufri (3 mm).
The maximum temperatures were 6-7 degrees Celsius below the normal, he said.
Una and Chamba recorded the highest temperature 27.4 degrees Celsius while tribal district Lahaul-Spiti's administrative centre Keylong recorded the lowest at 5.2 degrees Celsius, he added.
