In Punjab, Amritsar witnessed a light rain and the maximum temperature in the holy city settled at 33 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal.
Ludhiana, which was also lashed by rains, recorded a high of 31 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal, while Patiala's maximum settled at 33 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal, after a light rain.
The maximum temperature of Ambala, which too witnessed a light rain, settled at 32.7 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal.
Hisar, which was lashed by heavy rains, recorded a high of 32.5 degrees Celsius, eight notches below normal.
The MeT Department has forecast the possibility of rains or thundershowers at isolated places of the two states in the next 48 hours.
