According to MeT office, Chandigarh was lashed by 10.8 mm of showers while it recorded the maximum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below normal.
In Haryana, Ambala received 12.3 mm of rain, Hisar 4.4 mm while heavy showers lashed Karnal at 38 mm. The maximum temperatures recorded at Ambala and Hisar were 24 degrees C and 28.4 degrees C respectively, eight notches below normal.
In Punjab, showers were experienced in Ludhiana (2 mm) and Patiala (7.6 mm) with maximum temperatures of 27.2 degrees C and 24.6 degrees C in the respective places.
MeT department, in a forecast, has predicted rainfall and thundershowers at isolated places in the two states during the next 24 hours.
