Rain lashes parts of UP, Banda hottest at 46 degrees Celsius

Light to moderate rain and thunder showers occured at isolated places over eastern Uttar Pradesh even as the mercury level today rose in many parts of the state with Banda being the hottest at 46 degrees Celsius.
According to Met department, Kakrahi recorded a rainfall of 2 cm and Uskabazar recorded 1 cm rainfall.
Day temperatures rose markedly in Allahabad division, rose appreciably in Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly, Jhansi divisions, rose in Faizabad, Lucknow divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions over the state.
Thunder storm accompanied by squall is likely at isolated places in the state tomorrow, Met office said.
