A day-long pitter-patter interspersed with moderate rain in parts of the national capital led to a sharp fall in the temperature.
The rain, however, caused traffic misery due to water- logging across the city.
The city, cocooned by a dark grey sky, registered a drop of around 8 notches in the maximum temperature, which settled at 27.5 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius.
The Safdarjung Observatory, data of which is considered as official figures for Delhi, gauged 18.4 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm.
Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayangar recorded 17 mm, 22.3 mm, 22.7 mm and 24 mm of precipitation.
The humidity level touched the 100 per cent mark.
A MeT Department official said more rain is likely in the region tomorrow.
Congestions were reported in some parts of the city, including Moti Bagh, Laxmi Nagar, Samaypur Badali and ITO, a traffic police said.
