Rainfall brings relief on humid day in Delhi

Delhi was in the grip of humid conditions for most part of the day today although a spell of scattered rainfall in the afternoon brought relief from the sultry weather.
The Safdarjung observatory, which supplies the official reading for the city, recorded 1.1mm rainfall while the Lodhi Road observatory registered 1.8mm rainfall. The Ayanagar weather station recorded showers measuring 29.8mm.
Trace rainfall occurred in the areas under Palam observatory while the Ridge area remained dry.
The maximum temperature settled two notches above normal at 36 degrees Celsius in the city with the minimum recorded at 26.6 degrees, a notch above normal.
Humidity in air fluctuated between 62 and 87 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions and rainfall for in some areas tomorrow.
"Skies will be generally cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be at 34 and 26 degrees, respectively.
