Rainfall, fog leave Uttar Pradesh reeling in cold

Light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers occurred at a few places in Uttar Pradesh over the last 24 hours even as normal life was disrupted by fog in other areas.
According to the MeT department, 10mm rainfall was recorded at Jhansi, Hamirpur and Kunda while the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the state was 2.4 degrees Celsius at Najibabad.
The mercury fell in Agra division while temperatures rose appreciably in the Gorakhpur, Faizabad and Lucknow divisions.
The forecast is for dense fog at a few places with the weather likely to remain mainly dry over the state, MeT officials said.
